I am in the process of replacing my stock clutch. I realized that this will to be a very expensive procedure. I see everyone
here speak about cartek, specs, ZO6...etc!!! If you have a car that sees 90% street and 10% track, do I need one of those
expensive clutches?. The car Dynoed @ 370hp/360tq N/A with little mods and 485hp/530tq with 100shot. What clutch can I buy
that doesn't cost $800 to $1,000 plus install? and be good enough. Thanks for all your help. :troll
With numbers like the one's you posted, it would seem a heavy duty unit like a CARTEK/or equivilent is required. Holding the 370 is one thing, but with the shot of Nos, I believe you are out of the factory clutch realm of things. A lot also depends on what tires you race with i.e., drag radials, ET's ???....and how hard do you launch. These are all factors to be considered in your clutch selection. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know who I can go with, cartek is too expensive. I run street tires at the track
and launch at idle. Last year the car ran 11.80's with run-craps @ 122mph with 428hp/515tq. The clutch never slipped
Now I am noticing some slippeage on the street; no track visits yet. I'll bet she'll run 11.10's/11.20's with some boots and
and stock heads. Oh well, got's to pay to play.... :D :D
