Default trans cooling

Does anyone sell a complete kit with fittings and cooler to run a trans cooler that BYPASS's the radiatior (for a REASONABLE price )
Just got my new stage V trans in, and need to get the trans temps down under 200. Found some good coolers, but not sure what I need to cap off radiator and connect to the trans lines.
Would like to put one on both mine and my wifes car.

What is a "reasonable price" to you?

Of course its subjective, but I have found good coolers (no fans) for around $65 and less, so I don't want to pay $250+ for a "kit" that just adds the lines and fittings

I certainly can pull off my lines and after a few trips to the auto store, find the correct fittings, then take some measurments and order the correct lines, but was just wondering if someone had already put a kit together.
If not, or if it has an "unrealistic research fee" attached to it, I'll just do it myself.

Why bypass. I used a B&M for $60 and my temps went down 20 degrees.

I've read about 100 post on the subject, and around 1/2 (of course) say bypass and the other 1/2 say not. The odd thing is all of the "eye-witness" accounts of temps seem to contradict each other. Of the ones that claimed to have tried both, some say it runs cooler bypassed, and some say it ran cooler through the rad.
RPM says bypass the radiator and use a stand alone.
Either way, it's odd that there is not a complete step by step write up or several inclusive kits (including fittings) on somthing this common.

Some times when you try to do it on the cheap or cobble pieces together, plus your time. You pay more then the a kit.

Excessively cool oil temperatures can also be detrimental. For this reason I've always run both the radiator and auxiliary coolers in series. I believe this is the preffered set-up for a street car or truck.

According to this graph, trans life suffers once temps exceed 175 F. Lots of ways to get there. I haven't seen any guideline for low temp specs, other than bypass the coolers in sub freezing conditions. Currently I run 2 coolers (one with elec fan) and no radiator lines.

Chris

What's your temps run OFF of the track?
I had heard you need to keep the temps in the 17x range, but don't even know if that is possible around town without multiple coolers like you are running

I was looking at the B&M 70264 or 70274 without the rad. The 264 has the "bypass" feature, but the 274 is larger.

I just took a drive to check. It's about 55F outside today. About 30 mins down the highway, including some hwy romps, it was 160F. Then driving 15 min thru town, got up to about 170F. This is with a 3600 stall.

This is the 1st year on my 2 cooler setup. Last year, I ran the B&M 70297 by itself, and normally held around 200F. The B&M 70297 with electric fan is preset to go on at 175F. It used to run all the time, but never got high enough to kick on today. I'm sure it will get up there in the summer heat.

I found a local hydraulic hose shop to get braided line and 6AN fittings. It turned out nice, but I did make a few trips before it was all over. Picking a cooler, I'd get the biggest cooler that will fit. You won't need a bypass unless you're driving in sub zero temps.
