Default p0343 with new ls2 install

Guys is there a difference in way the pcm counts for the cams on a ls1 vs ls2. I am thinking of how the cranks have a 24x for the ls1 and a 58x for the ls2. I have a P0343 code but I am sure the bolts are tight since I just installed them. I even took extra care to loctite them because I know the can loosen over time. Any suggestions would be great.

Two possibilities:

1) Your adapter harness is not pinned up correctly(very common)
2) You have a 4x cam gear, and your PCM wants to see a 1x

Lucky
If I have the wrong cam gear can this be corrected with software such as hp tuners. Also I was talking to the owner of the car about the harness possibly being the problem. Thanks for your quick response.

Lucky Thanks for you help with this problem. Just so everyone knows what fixed the car.
1. Wire harness was not correct. I had to swap the outside wires.
2. After fixing the harness the car still throw the code and was hard to start. Checked sensor and found it was shorted. I replaced the sensor and we are good to go.

Thanks for the follow up. Was it the red and black wires?

I had this problem about 2 1/2 years ago. Hard to believe they are still making the conversion harness wrong.
