Default Dip Stick INFO!

Hey guys, just dropped a new 383 stroker in my 99 FRC and I need to swap in a newer style dip stick that bolts to the head and not to the exhaust manifold, as I put Stainless Works LTs on and they did not have the dipstick bolt fitting welded on to the primary. Do I just need a 2001 and up dip stick and does anyone know the Part #.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! That pretty well covers it. I guess I need the 2001 -2004 tube and dipstick.

Do you guys know if the older 853 heads have the hole for the 01'+ dip stock hold down bolt to screw into?

Enough snow already. Heard the engine & LTs today...sweeeeeet!!! Hopefully I can drive the beast home from the shop on Sat if the Deerfoot allows, and take it back in 3 or 4 weeks for the final tune.

I hear ya man. it has snowed every day this week and I am ready to lose my mind. I have long tubes waiting to go in but I have to get my PCM backin the car before I can get her into the garage for the install. with all this new snow, its never going to happen.
I bet it does sound sweet! I hope the weather co operates with you for Satruday. hopefully the deerfoot will be clear so you'll just have to watch the side streets and rocks/gravel/sand! drive carefully

did you get a dipstick yet? I get employee pricing on my GM parts and the stick and tube were really expensive.

if you mean the 2000 and older heads, I am pretty sure the answer is yes as most header manufacturers recommend or supply the newer dipstick for installs.

yeah thanks, Gene's great. I've ordered from him before. my concern is the brokerage fee. I just had ECS tune my pcm and on top of shipping I had to pay $40 brokerage...for my own damn computer. thats why I've stopped bringing stuff in from the US. enough of my complaining though

It's great isn't it, we spend $25 for a dipstick so they can save $5 by not putting the threaded boss on there no more.
