Default Inviscord install - fuse box connection

Okay, electronics is a weak area for me, so I was hoping someone may have a picture or two, of the straight cord for a PASSPORT RADAR Detector (link below).

https://www.escortradar.com/store/direct-wire-cord.html

So, if you have any pictures of how you installed this to your fuse box, that would be great.

I have a 2003 ZO6.

Thanks,

Micah

You do know about the AUXILIARY 12 VDC on the 97-2003 C5 in the passengers foot well. Its made for just what your doing. Theres a hot and a switched wire for that purpose:

Its to the left of the BCM and if it was never used, it will be wrapped in tape:

Its on a plug so you can disconnect it and wok on it at a bench.

Thanks Bill, I knew there was something down there, wasn't sure where. However, in the picture I can't make out which wire is what. Sorry brother, could you help out?

I used a 16" quick connect wire that plugs into the back of the mirror and a mount/clip that attached to the top window frame. VERY easy to do! Works & looks great!
E-mail me and I'll send you pictures. bill.clark8@gmail.com

I have the 12" just like that one and the wires have backed out everytime I have drove it. I have used electrical tape, zip ties and both and it keeps backing out, so I am done with the mirror connection. I had the long one going to the fuse box and it worked great, but I did not install it. If anyone wants the 12" I have send me an address and I'll give it to you.

There are THREE wires.

Black = Ground,
Orange = 12 VDC Hot at all times,
Yellow = Ignition Switched 12 VDC.

There both 20 Amp fused and can run multiple loads as long as they dont exceed 20 Amps.

Bill, Do you recommend solder or just standard electrical connectors?

I am sure I will figure it out with the help of your picture and understand what is going on.

Thanks Bill!

I always recommend soldering for the best connection. Those connections are inside and protected so a cimp splice will work if that all you have.
