I just installed front rotors and pads.

I went for a short drive. I stopped several times. The brakes felt fine. When I got back I looked at the rotors and only half of the surface the pads ride on were worn. It look like only half of the pads was contacting the rotor. How can that be? Does that mean I didn't do a good job bedding the brakes?

did you heat cycle the new pads and rotors on you drive?

I have used this tutorial to pretty good effect. You will be amazed at the improvment in stopping power when the brakes are properly bedded in:

My Hawk HPS Brake Pads said to do stops from 30 mph and not stop completely. I usually do 10-15 stops.
