Would you go to Autozone and buy an alternator blind? You'd end up with a crappy re manufactured unit. I'm sure someone on here has found brand new alternators from a reputable dealer and the advice you'd read on here just saved your bacon. That's the beauty of a (helpful) car forum...

It was just an easy question. I expected a post or two about "this brand fits the best and works well". Didn't expect everybody to take time out of their day to challenge my reading comprehension or trust issues with minimum wage employees at Autozone.
i've only had mine a few months, but i've done a lot more in-depth stuff than changing wiper blades. time of ownership don't really have much to do with the issue.

fords also have wiper blades. i assume you've changed blades on your previous cars before. a corvette uses the same basic process.

wiper blades and alternators are two different beasts. wipers are pretty much the same no matter where you buy them because those companies distribute through just about every major retailer. alternators, like you said, can vary based on the condition of the units, the quality of the work done on them, and how much a vendor wants to get rid of one.

i don't know why you have problems trusting someone who works in a store that sells thousands of wipers. if anything, they'd have some good opinions on which ones are good & last a while or crappy & have to get replaced all the time.

as for which brands work better or have bad tendencies to fail - you never even brought up those concerns. you simply asked which size to use. that's something that's right in the catalog we've mentioned.

if you'd voiced your particular concerns as to which blades tend to work better on our cars, you'd've received much more helpful responses.

i'm sorry you got your feelings hurt, but this is the internet. 95% of people out here don't give a flying flip about how they make you feel when they answer questions that have very simple solutions. the other 5% wanted to reply in the same manner but chose not to

I'm pretty sure that's one Z0-6 I wouldn't have purchased. Good luck and keep the forum informed.

You guys were tough on him, but I guess it was a stupid question.

Yes, I assumed he had an owners manual, once I found out he did not...I provided him a link to download one for free.

Default Wiper Blades

And I just don't trust the kid at the counter at autozone. O'Reilly Auto
Parts sold me Bosch 22 inch and installed them for free My right blade
when in the parked position sticks off the glass near the pillar 3 inches and I always catch it when I clean my windshield. Found this out 2 weeks later and now I can't find the receipt. Check the brand and fit.

Default Ignore

Dude, great car! New owner, tons of questions like we all have. Ignore the stupid comments. Worst thing that can happen with the wipers, they don't fit and you're out 30 bucks. 22" both sides. I'm on here researching the same thing for the 02 Conv I just picked up this weekend. ENJOY!

2. Has carbon fiber dual-blade ghetto bling 16" wipers. They don't wipe.
3. Two owners manuals from two different vettes but not one for this generation of vette. Going to trade for the right one but yes, I definitely thought to look there.
4. As I stated above...searches came up with a number of different results that didn't sound right.

Now, If I really did miss something obvious, please continue to point it out to me.

This thread is now 7-1/2 years old so I hope that the OP got his wiper blade issue solved. And he probably should have bought another set by now. It always helps to look at the date of the start of a thread before posting your own comments. While the part numbers may not have changed, the OP and maybe some of the other posters have solved their problems.

The OP must have gotten scared away....18 posts in 7 years, and his last post was a little over a year ago.

And to add a little seriousness to this "discussion", if you don't trust "the kid at Autozone", to get you the correct wiper blades, most of the "big box" auto parts stores, as well as WallyWorld, have an electronic display box/parts looker-uper thingy, specifically for wiper blades. It's located right in front of the wiper blades, and you can scroll through it and select what you need.....

i still went with the bosch icons & have no complaints.
2" of the passenger side is off the glass about 1/8" at the end due to the increased curvature of the windshield, as you'll read anywhere else on here, but they wipe fine.
