Default Machine shop in Central Jersey

I'm looking for a machine shop in central jersey that has advanced experience with LS series engines. I have a block from my Vette that has a sever scratch (actually a gouge to me) and I want to see if the block is salvagable or not. I've talked to several that never worked on an LS series engine but say "it should" be able to be repaired. The only trick with all these shops is that they will not guarantee the outcome, because they have not done one before, and still want to be paid if the job is a flop. Is there anybody who has had personnel experience in having any engine block work done here in central jersey and can offer a recommendation?

Good luck brother. Recommend contacting some of the Corvette tuner shops and see if they have any recommendations. Call Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester and Doug OR Chris at ECS. They may know of a shop in the Jersey /NY area with the talent that you are searching for.

Good suggestion but it seems like most shops (and in some cases rightfully so) rather start with a new replacement block then "fix" a slightly damaged block. Yes it's quicker and easier for the shop but I have time and would rather not buy another block, hence, my inquiry. I did find one but it's way to far away, I am hopefull that one will be closer.

The reason for it is because the repair costs are close enough to the cost of a new block that it's not worth fixing the old one.
