Long time admirer but first time owner of a Corvette. I noticed under the "Weight and measurements" thread that the drivetrain can produce some rattling noises that are completely normal. However, I seem to hear a knocking sound coming from the rear end when coming out of first gear. My car has 18K on it, and after a recent dealer inspection all was said to be ok. This problem I just noticed today however.
I've continued to do a little research on this. Could it be a problem with the torque tube? I've also heard of an issue with a rear wheel bearing being too loose?
The car drives great otherwise. Any thoughts? Just want to be sure I'm not over-reacting as a first time owner. Until I get my new garage up and running, it's a trip to the dealer anytime something is wrong. Woof.
