My automatic 1998 Corvette Coupe needs to have the fluid changed. I know it's probably low because on my way out to Las Vegas from Chicago, it began to howl. Is the howling a result of the fluid being low or something worse like I burned it out when I continued on driving when the howling started? I figured the fluid was just low and needed more added, but I do not know how to get the fluid in there.
You should REALLY take the car to a tranny shop or a dealer for this one. Car has to be running up off the ground, in and out of gear to change the tranny fluid in a C5 automatic. You will need a fluid transfer pump and a VERY stable set of jackstands on a level surface or preferably a lift.
Might have worse issues than just needing fluid change too..based on symptoms/noises.
edit: Tony, delete your link..that's NOT the correct way to do it

You might also want to check your rear gear fluid if you hear howling. In fact, just jack it up and change out with fresh. Maybe you'll get lucky and this is the cause of the noise.
This is what the car is saying when it makes that noise: $$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!
