Default Transmision help!

I just purchased my 2001 zo6 about 1 week ago. It came equipped with a p1sc procharger and i was told that it had an RPM Stage 5 tranny with a Spec stage 3 clutch and a B&M Short throw. I recently have taken it on the highway and opened it up a little. The problem i am having is that going from 1st to 2nd at high RPM is almost impossible, and going from 2nd to 3rd IS impossible... It seriously takes 3-4 seconds before i can get it into the gear. There isn't any grinding or unusual noises. My question is, does anybody know what i can do to fix this problem? Maybe going back to the stock shifter or a different shifter?

The feedback is appreciated! Thanks.

Take it back if you can, at best the clutch hydraulics need to be flushed using the OEM procedure, look at the condition of the fluid. Worst case scenario is that you have a marginal clutch and or worn synchronizers.
The B&M shifter is junk in my opinion, my Z had one when I bought it, I removed it and replaced it with the OEM shifter. I did not give me the problems you are describing, my issue with it was noise.

Well, you knew the mods that had been done to the car when you bought it, so you had to know that it had been drove hard. When I bought my Z it had a bad 5th gear syncro. I thought what the hell I'll just get it fixed down the road, no big deal. Well the big deal was that a new trans, clutch and everything else all totaled up to $5,000. I guess you could say that now I know that everything is new but I still had to spend the money. This is the question you have to ask yourself. In the end I was happy about my purchase and have done many more mods since then but my Z was stock when I bought it and well taken care of. A syncro can go out on anybody. Everyone that goes down that 1/4 mile strip has to know it could be the death to the tranny at any time.

If the gears are not grinding and just difficult to go into a gear at high rpm, I would lean toward a clutch/hydraulic problem. If it was a shifter problem, it would do this regardless of rpm. If it was a trans issue, it WOULD grind.

If you are not able to check for your self, to see if you still have the original or stock clutch Master cylinder, have the proper machanic do so.
If it is still stock, switch over to a Tick adj master cylinder.
Of course @ the same time have a complete flush of clutch fluid, from the slave cylinder back to the clutch resevoir.
This would be the least $/time to start with.
If this doesn't take care of the problem, then you will have to dig a little deeper into the car=time & money., slave cylinder, throw out
bearing, clutch, p/plate,pilot bearing.

I know the previous owner and the car wasn't driven that hard. I know its not the syncro's because there isn't any grinding at all. I am ordering the Tick Adjustable Master Cylinder and hopefully that will fix the problem. Thanks for the help!
