Alarm Activation
I keep my '02 Roadster garaged with the alarm activated (manual mode). The last couple of days I have experienced alarm activation and I cannot figure out why. Once it occured a few seconds after I locked the doors via the remote (which activates the alarm) and on other occasions it just goes off after hours off non-use. No sonic booms etc.
Is the stock alarm stricly a "door open" sensing device, or does it monitor sound and/or movement? Will an electrical current drain (leaving the V1 'on") cause activation?
Not sure if this is your issue or not... but, my alarm (and those of others if you look in the archives) also appeared to go off all by itself. However, closer inspection showed that it was actually that the "panic" button on the key fob that was being accidentally pushed by simple things such as pocket change or even being knocked on the kitchen counter top.
Also, I once left my V1 on for an extended time. The car alarm did not sound but the car battery went very nicely dead. It's hardwired now ;-)
also check under the hood and undercarriage cause somtime small creatures
mine be chewing somthing in your car , that is what happen to one of my customer
I don't remember what GM says but it really seems a short time. At first I thought the alarm was defective because, until I realised what was happening, the alarm went off several times a week!
