I've read somewhere (years ago) that the proper adjustment for the parking brake is to turn the star wheel to expand the parking brake shoes to the point where the largest setting where the rotor will slip on the hub without pounding or anything like that. and once this is done being able to hear some drag of the parking brake on the rotor is perfectly normal, that it won't drag once the wheel is installed and everything is torqued up.
can someone confirm if that's correct?
last time I adjusted just so there was no sound of drag when the rear wheels are rotated, and the result was the parking brake was nearly useless. the shop manual gives a gap measurement, but I don't see how to check it because you don't have access once the rotor is installed.
