Default TT bushings/guibos

Ok after alot of searching all i can find are cheap knock offs of the 10mm torque tube bushings. Even the superceeded part # for the bmw parts is now a chineese manufacturer. My dealership has not been able to find them either.
Where is everyone getting their bushings now? I dont want to break the bank on these, honestly mine dont look too bad but they are getting old.

I went with the prothane six shooters. Great quality product. I highly recommend them. No problems on my supercharged c5.

My $40/ea 10mm BMW couplers seem to be holding up just fine. 500whp, 5000miles, 80some passes with hard (1.5x 60') launches, 1 blown built C6Z rear and 1 blown torque tube and the couplers are still healthy.

do you happen to know the part number of those tt bushings? were they purchased recently? I had a friend in the auto supplier industry back track the bmw bushings sold by autohaus and it sounds like they are the cheap flimsy ones made in china now. I'm trying to find the ones with the made in germany stamp on them?

Call Mike Yaeger at East Coast Performance. He advertises that they have the true german made couplers. The ones from RPM transmissions are good too, but very costly.

I finally found the good made in germany Febi/Bilstein 10mm bushings at a local foreign auto parts store for around $50. They are specifically for a 1997 bmw 318i auto. The guy looked at me like i was crazy when i told them what theyre actually for

i went with brand new rubber ones. I've got no driveline vibration or noise.

Interesting side note though. i Sent back some couplers from Corvette Central after reading they are much softer than the stock couplers. Well after sending them away i guess Corvette Central bought a new GM coupler and had theirs tested against a GM one and this is the response i got from them in an Email

"According to my product department we did buy a GM coupler and sent it along with our part to be tested, and the results came back that they are both the same Durometer (hardness) of the rubber."

P.S. I could tell the ones from CC were physically softer than the GM ones i pulled but they say otherwise. I got mine from Mike and they were harder like the GM ones i pulled.
