i just met a guy in my hometown of cleveland tn. he has an 01 z06 with a set of 18/19 fikse wheels but he recently wrecked the car and when he did the right rear wheel was warped heavily and the left rear has a slight crack but still holds air. the front 2 are in perfect condition . he said he would sale me the wheels for $400 are they worth this much? also if i bought them can the small crack be fixed and made true again? what about the warped one? should i be as excited as i am lol? going to get them tomoro if yall think its worth it
Not completely familiar with those wheels BUT,,,, My son ran over a curb at 44 MPH and bent all four of my CCW 505a wheels
I had a wheel repair shop straighten them. 100 percent fixed!
Look in the yellow pages and on Goggle for wheel repair shop in your town or state/ There will be MANY!! Call and discuss the issue and price/guarantee..
Personally, I always cringe at the thought of driving on repaired wheels. I'm not saying that it can't be done but I doubt that they will be 100%.
In my line of work (aerospace), the proper repair of aluminum alloy components is difficult to achieve. There are a lot of variables to keep in mind such as proper weld and straightening techniques, stress relieving, hardness testing, etc. The rim may look good after repair but I doubt that it's physical properties can be restored to OEM specs. This also depends on what type of aluminum alloy it is. Some AL alloys simply cannot be welded or straightened.
For me, wheels are the most critical safety component of any car. It is the only component that connects you to the road. Again, that's just my two cents.

Well said. When you are headed down the road at highway speeds, do you really want to be thinking if the car's wheels are structurally sound?
