I was NOT referring to you in derogatory way at all. Just the TB with a hole in it. I just hate to see people trying to live with a drilled TB. Its very difficult to get it tuned properly with the hole in the plate. Lots off tuners drill the hole cause they don't know what table/s need to be changed to get the proper additional air flow.

If he can find the correct size blade or find a fool proof way to plug the hole, there will not be any tuning /idle issues.

Sorry I offended you. It was surly unintentional. Please accept my apologies.

I hope the OP can work it out easily.

Its all good. I just hope he can get it figured out. I guess neither one of us knew about the hole in the blade. I just read some people do it for idle purposes. To the OP yes keep us posted!

I get home at 7 and will try it all then. If not I am just going to go with a fast 102 manifold and TB. Will those fit?

ok, I tried the idle re-learn procedure and it seemed to help a little. I had no codes whatsoever. Maybe I just need to drive it around for awhile and get it used to it? If there is anything else anyone can think of please let me know - Thanks

Find a rubber plug that will fit tight in the hole, plug the hole up. Then do the idle relearn and see if it idles better.

As for the FAST intake,,,,, NO! It takes a LS2 TB to fit a FAST 90. 92 & 102. I think the FAST 78 takes a LS1/6 TB..

Comparison of a LS1/6 TB and a LS2 TB (Both are PORTED)

If the OP is having a problem with idle with a plate with a hole in it, I just went through the same scenario.

I got a ported TB with a hole drilled in it....previous owner had a cam, and it idled fine with the hole.

Mine had a hanging idle.

I put a piece of duct tape over the drilled hole and as soon as I started the car, it ran PERFECT!!!

I simply put a small rivet in the hole. Problem solved.

Remove the air ducting between the MAF and TB. Have a trusted friend turn the KEY ON/ENGINE OFF. You OBSERVE the Throttle Blade while your friend presses the accelerator peddle.

Have him press it in a slow controlled press and release. The throttle blade should follow smoothly and go back to the IDLE position when the accelerator is released. Try a few rapid press and releases and make sure the TB reacts properly to the rapid press and release. You can try and start the engine and see if it will run. (Some will and some will not run with the MAF disconnected) If it will run, see if the Throttle Blade tries to follow the idle speed.

Reconnect everything, reset the MAF DTCs and see if it runs any better.

Try temporarily plugging up the hole with tape like 87gtNOS did

Latest update: I got a hold of Mark Shaner. He is going to port my LS1 Throttle body so I can take this useless one off the car. Thank you everyone for the great advice though.
