Default Hood Alignment Advice

Hi folks:
I'm interested in your feedback. When I close the hood, one latch catches, but not the other one. I need to push down on the "bad" side to get it to catch. If I adjust the rubber bumper higher on the good side, might that force the bad side futher down so that the latch will catch when I close the hood? Any other suggestions?

On the side that does not want to latch. (Latches that are closest to the cowl.)
Put a mark to both sides of the top edge of the latch that is not catching.
Loosen the 4 bolts (10mm)
Raise the latch 1/8" up past the pre marked lines & retighten.
Good luck.

I use a piece of clay on top of the catch to see how things line up. SLOWLY let the hood down and compare the 2 sides to see how they strike the catch.

How are you closing the hood? Do you lower it until the rear is about 2 ft above the cowl and let it drop? lt should close fine doing that. If you baby it then it is more likely you could have one side not latch. I used to toss my hood closed. Did that for 12 years on 2 C5s. Never damaged a hood. It isn't metal and can take a lot more abuse.
