Default NEW HEADERS FROM STAINLESSWORKS

Has anybody out there heard of this company and had any experience with them. I saw there headers in the new Vette mag. They look perty nice and made of stainless steel and completely tig welded.. They claim 15-20rwhp on a lightly moded Ls1..

Check out there web site tell and me what you think . The price seems nice at 999.00 and can be high polished as a option for all you show cars out there.

I am looking for headers now and want to look at all before I chose hope this helps others as well.

There web site is http://www.stainlessworks.net

Make sure you get them coated. Keeps the engine bay temperature way down ;)

have you checked out FLP's total package. considering they throw in high flow cats and the x-pipe, seems like a better deal. imho.

you might check out http://www.thewsa.com

it is a first hack at header comparison, if enough people think that kind of info is useful, i may expand it.

These look like knock-offs of the TPIS headers to me. They are a medium length primary design, and I doubt you would ever see 15-20HP from them.

If you are looking for a header in this price range, these look nice, however, I would spend the extra money on the properly-tuned headers from LGM. His headers are the style racers use.

I plan to put these on my Z06 in the next few weeks. They are made of 304 low carbon stainless and have a great reputation. They may look like tpis knock offs but they are not. Also, you can only get them in a milled finish not polished.

Also I don't plan on coating mine as it just adds to the expense and is unnecessary as very few if any coatings truly reduce underhood temps. The reason TTS, SLP etc are coated is because they are mild steel and will rot otherwise.

LG's headers may in fact be better (who really knows) but at double the price it's tough to justify especially on a stock motor IMHO. I plan on doing a dyno before and after and posting my results. Frankly, if I see 15rwhp and TQ I'll be very happy.

Joe

If Price is an issue, then we can offer you the Stainless Works headers, as well as our true long tubes.

In addition as a low price option, we do offer out Race style 304 Stainless Long Tubes, without cats, but with Merge Collectors for $1595.

And I know that all the Brand X cheerleaders will tell you this and that, but in each case you will be buying a Mid Length header with trinkets, rather than a true Long Tube.

So For a True 32" long Tube, there is only one choice, and that is the LG Long Tubes. Available with or without all the whistles and bells. Tailor the system to your budget, and your needs.

Plus let it be known that we sell every brand of header, we just happen to like ours best.

Give us a call. 972-272-7753

Actually Lou, there is one other like yours, but they're so overpriced I cant see why anyone would want them now that your headers are out.

Damn those are LONG headers. You'd need some REALLY long extensions for the O2's.

I'm pretty sure they're the same length as LG's headers.

Yes those are nice headers. They did them for the World Challenge and Motorola cup C5s for Chevrolet. Chevy paid for the development to find out what length was the best for power and torque, and 32" was the results. These headers did not come with egr fitting, and there was no accomidation for an Air Conditioner because the race cars do not have to deal with those.

We built ours the same length, but made all the accomidation for the street, ie; Air Conditioner/EGR clearance. So there truly are no headers like the LG headers
We also supply 02 "extension cords" to make installation easy.

Notice the Merge Collector. All my headers now come with Stainless Steel Merge collectors (304 alloy).

Keep in mind that I sell every brand of header, But for those demanding the best, I designed our header , At half of the price of the racing headers.

There is no need to coat our stainless headers, but we do offer the option.

Thanks,

Lou Gigliotti http://www.lgmotorsports.com

Joe, just to set the record straight, the SLP's are coated stainless . I am in line to have them installed as soon as they are available. It's nice that we have so many headers available for the C5. I myself now have the RK Sports (basically a copy of the TPIS style) so it should prove interesting in a real world comparison of the two, as I go to the track often. I must say those LGM headers do look good, being a true long tube.

Mike :)

I just installed the LGM headers and they do look great. However
the installation was not as easy as I was lead to believe. I was
told they would install from the bottom when in fact I installed
them from the top. I also had to remove the alternater, fuel
packs, steering shaft, and the intake manifold ( for the EGR
line to be replaced) and lift the motor. On top of that I did not
receive the 02 extentions that I now have to wait 9 days to be
sent to me and the car sits. :mad

My car already has a magnaflow X-pipe and High flow cats . So buying a package with those items makes no sense. What can I install using my existing parts so my only purchase is the long tubes maybe I'm reading the packages wrong. Can LG or FLP etc. long tubes be installed using my cats.
As far as price 1595.00 is tops for me...
Thanks

If your system has V-clamps and the cats are 3" then you most
likely could use LGM headers. You may have to cut a couple of
inches off your X-pipe like I did but, it should work.

I just got off the phone with Lou at LGM and he was apologetic
for the time it is taking getting the o2 sensor extentions. He offered
to ship some overnight but they wouldn't be here until Tues.
so I'll wait another day for UPS. He's also sending the new merge
collectors which are a better design. This is a Tuner that backs
his product and I don't think you can go wrong with LGM. He was
not aware of my problem since I only talked to people in his shop
but he made an point to contact me at 9:30 on a Fri. night to
try and remedy my situation. That's commitment to his customers.
