Default Corner Weights ..... What Would YOU Do?

All weights are dry with driver:

LF/RR Cross 1595 50.3% || RF/LR Cross 1569 49.6%

Front 1707 53.9

LF 872 27.5% || RF 835 26.4%

Left Side 1606 50.7% || Right Side 1558 49.2%

Total Weight 3164

LR 734 23.2% || RR 723 22.8%

Rear 1457 46.9

Swaybars disconnected, stock adjustment bolts on T1 springs. 100 lbs of fuel puts the F/R balance just shy of 52/48. Unfortunately I don't have the rake measurements..........

This is my first attempt at cornerweighting the car myself as I've never had the scales to use........

Suggestions?

Lot of wt in the left front.

Can you move the battery to the passenger side floor next to the tunnel? or the right rear cargo hold.

then ballast as needed on the passenger floor.

You are real close.

The cross weights should be equal. You need to add about 7 pounds to the left rear, and that will also reduce the left front weight by the same 7 pounds. Just give the left rear bolt about 1/16th of a turn and you are done.

When you are done it should be about: LF=865, RF=842, LR= 741 RR=716.

Doesn't sound like much but it will take some of the load off of the left front. If you are going to error, it should be the other way, that is, with a bit more weight on the RF than perfect, because the LF weight is higher and that tends to make it push if you overload that tire.

If you have access to the scales you should let the front end settle and the bolts deform for a couple of days of driving before you corner weight it again, and then do all of the adjustment with the rear bolts. The deformantion of the front bolts can throw off corner weights so it's better not to muck with them once they have deformed and are settled out.

Solofast.......I was thinking along that line but didn't think the actual adjustment would be so small......will play with it these evening after work.

Having cool tools to do your job is too cool !!!!

Anyone have a simulator program for cornerweighting?? That could be fun too!!

I think you want to corner weight with you in the car.

Damn I love this stuff......!!!

Gonna do the 944T next week when we get back from HPT. It has coilovers!!! And as far as I know, never cornerweighted...........

UPDATE:

After futzing around with some settings, here is what I ended up with (w/driver, sways off, about 8 gallons of fuel)

LF/RR Cross 1608 50% || RF/LR Cross 1613 50%

Front 1716 53%

LF 876 27% || RF 840 26%

Left Side 1649 51% || Right Side 1572 49%

Total Weight 3221

LR 773 24% || RR 732 23%

Rear 1505 47%

I love new toys..................BTW.......the Porsche needed corner weighting BADLY. Coilovers were all over the place.........its 50/50 cross now too!!
