I just had a Corsa Indy installed. All I can say is it now sounds like a Corvette. Man what a difference. The only thing that nearly bummed me out was the smoke coming from the exhaust on the drive home. Thought the rear end was on fire for a moment there. But then I surmised the system was burning off the oils inside. I am finally satisfied that I now have a Vette that sounds like it is supposed to. Am curious why GM doesn't put a meatier exhaust on at the factory. Now that Corsa is officially licensed maybe in the near future?
I noticed a lot of oil and metal shavings inside the Corsa pipes before I installed mine too. I ran very hot water through the pipes to loosen and flush out the shavings and oil before I installed the system. So I didn't get any smoke out of the new pipes. The main reason I did this is so that the metal shavings didn't end up in my garage or driveway. I suppose it would cost Corsa a couple of bucks to do this themselves, but it would be nice of them to get the crap out of the inside of the system before they ship it to you.
One thing though, check the bolts after some miles to check if they loosen. Mine periodically would go out of "alignment" and had to retorque. No problems for about a year now.
Have mine on now for 2 weeks and love the sound. After the ride home I did notice a burning smell but now it must have been the oil on the pipes. See you can learn on the forum. Thanks for clearing it up :D
Thanks for the heads up on the bolts Speed Racer. Will definitely keep an eye on them for awhile. I am still in awe at the sound. All the discussions on here were about how good they sound, but until you hear it, you just don't realize. Well worth the cost to get the Vette to sound like one. My gas mileage is probably going to go down for awhile as I'm taking it a little deeper into the gears to hear that wonderful sound.
Several folks in my Club installed Corsa Indy's and we all had some burn off, but after a good run on the highway they were fine. I didn't think about re-checking the bolts. Will have to add that to my list of things to do. The Corsa's are awesome.
SWEET!! I have my new Corsa sitting here waiting for the car.
I can't wait to get these babies install. Let'er rip!
BadBoy...I think you know by now that I'm in the same boat. My dealer sent invoices today, and my car is sitting done at Cave City Chevrolet in Bowling Green waiting for me!
Sounds like a bunch of happy campers here... Oh yea, me too! The shop that put mine on suggested that I let them put a small tack weld on the brackets because he had also seen some bolts come loose and that let things move around a bit. I agreed to the tacks after he reminded me that they could be removed with a small grinder and then he asked me how soon did I plan to take them back off..... Great sounds abound and I love my Daytona Tips!
