I have 1997 C-5 coup, I was riding down the a rough road and the ABS / Traction control light came on and stayed on also service veh. I checked to see if it was showing a code. NO code found by veh. sys. scan or hand held scanner. Any help would be great. I was thinking maybe a plug came loose or a ground wire, that is my hope but just a thought.
No codes? than maybe you turned it off by accident. If it goes off line due to a system issue, it should pop a code. Try cycling the TC button on off while running.

The light will come on when the system is activated,,DIC will also notify you,,,,your car probably sensed wheel spin and was just alerting you. That is normal. If you have no codes,,,,you are good to go. Keep an eye on it but don't fret!
Both the the ABS system and the traction control system uses input from the "wheel speed sensors " at each wheel---The ABS uses the input to keep the wheels from skidding on a hard stop--the TC uses the input to keep the wheels from spinning on a hard launch--
Going over railroad tracks or driving on a rough road will sometimes make the wheel speed sensor pigtails to lose contact--If it happens often just unplug each pigtail and clean them with brakeclean--make sure they plug in completely--check the wires for any that are compromised--check the "starwheel " to make sure there are no rocks or debris stuck in them--
Other wise if it was just a one time deal-- when you turn off and restart the messages should disappear---

Starwheel is a nickname --but i think it's actually called a "reluctor ring "
On the back of the looks like a gear--
However just remembered you can't see it on the REAR --it's hidden--and on the front it is on the wheel bearing assembly behind the rotor---Also may not be visible- (sorry)-can't remember--On most cars/trks it's on the back of the brake rotor--
