Default Paging C5-TECH -Thanks and another question

C5-TECH,

Thanks for the information on replacing the Ambient Air Temp Sensor and harness connector. I spliced in the parts today- no more bad temp readings and DTC code! I must admit, however, that it was a tough job in a confined space when you are 6'5'' and 240 lbs with "ham hands"!

I have two other questions. I recently had my dealer install a 2002 Z06 Air Box Cover. Do I need to do any special procedure for the PCM to adjust for the new airflow- or will it do it automatically?

Also, on the drive home I noticed a gas odor. It was coming from the filler area / left wheelwell where I understand the gas tank vent is. Checking under the hood, I noticed that the "fuel pressure regulator purge tube" (the small tube that runs into the air intake just in front of the throttle body) was not re-inserted in the hole in the air intake. Could this have caused a problem in the fuel system that resulted in abnormal pressure/venting?

In addition, when I replaced the tube in the hole it fit very losely- I am concerned it may fall out. Could a part be missing?

Thanks for your help in advance.

There isnt any venting from the fuel system on the C5.The system is under pressure and monitored by the PCM...Excess vapors or pressure is returned back to the intake. If you had a pressure or vapor loss, the check engine light would come on,P0442 code (notice the indication on the gas cap)...The hose to the regulator is simply a vaccum hose and would have nothing to do with a fuel odor.I suspect that you may have a raw fuel leak, and should have it checked :yesnod:

As for the air box,the PCM will relearn as you drive...
