I used it on mine when I did the cam/rockers/etc... I sprayed brake clean down each bore, then with a shop rag held over the top of the bore, I blew compressed sir into the bore. That was the only way I could see to get the bores clean, dry & oil free.

Just dont use the stuff that requires heat to remove. You have to use something if you have ported heads where the bolt hole breaks into the intake port.

GM manual doesn't call for loc tite to re install the rocker bolts.
It does state to lubricate the bolt FLANGE w/motor oil before install & torque value.
By the way, there is the proper sequence of torquing the the rockers,
in their proper positions.
Are you familiar w/the sequence & torque value?

22 ft lbs for torq. however seems to be alot of different opinions on sequence. Speed Inc. says Just torq. em down starting in the middle and working out. I know gm manual has a different sequence. Talked to head tech. at local gm dealer and he stated to torq. from middle out also..

You don't ever want to torque down rockers on an open valve.

Start with the #1 piston @ the tdc of the compression stroke.

Make sure all the push rods are seated into the lifter sockets.
install all the rockers & FINGER tighten all the bolts.

Tighten the exhaust valve rocker arm bolts 1,2,7,& 8 to 22 lb ft.
Tighten the intake valve rocker arm bolts 1,3,4,& 5 to 22 lb ft.

Rotate the crank 360 degrees.
Tighten exhaust valve rocker arm bolts 3,4,5, & 6 to 22 lb ft.
Tighten intake valve rocker arm bolts 2,6,7, & 8 to 22 lb ft.

That's it.
Done the proper way & accordind to GM specs.

Good luck.

Here is the GM procedure from the service manual, perhaps the local GM tech should open it on occasion.
