I replaced my headlights today with APC Super
White bulbs and now my headlights are way out of adjustment. Is this normal to have to adjust the lights after installing stronger bulbs? Iwould think it shouldn't make any difference.I am 99% sure,I didn't make any errors installing them. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Be sure that all three tabs seat properly. I had one high beam shining about 2 feet higher than the other. If the both the lows and both the highs are at similar heights, you probably have to adjust them. I had to.
Make sure the bulbs are seated properly in the sockets. The only reason your headlamps would be out of alignment with a bulb replacement would be because the bulbs are not seated. This happens all the time and it is easy to mistaken them to be properly seated when they aren't.
Check them again and make sure they are installed the same way the factory bulbs were.
If you have any questions, call us or drop by and I will take a look at the car.
If all three tabs are not properly seated, your new bulbs will put out a very "scattered" light that won't amount to much on the road. If they are properly seated (all three tabs) you will have a nice focused beam.
So if you have a nice focused beam and it is still pointing off into the weeds, then yes, somehow things got misaligned.
But if you have a scattered beam pattern, then all that happened is all three tabs didn't get seated. Here is a picture from my car when I had only 2 of the three tabs properly seated (thanks to the lousy install by Corvettes of Houston):
and here is a bulb with all three tabs properly seated (corvettes of houston did get this one right, bless them):
Good luck, they are a real bitch to get installed properly!!
I am getting frustrated with these bulbs.Thank you for the hints on installing the bulbs. Its amazing that such a simple thing as this is becoming a major chore.I will probrably take them out and round file them. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy

Tell me about it- I paid for "professional" installation and still end up doing it myself to get things right. I will say, when you see your new bulbs side-by-side with a stock vette, you will appreciate how much brighter/whiter your headlights are. They make the stock bulbs look dim and yellow in comparison.
