Open/Shorted RF wheel speed sensor by performance box
Hey all,
I installed a box that controls boost via wheel speed. The box ties into one of the wheel speed sensors and I just started it for the first time since the install and it's throwing the C1233 code, which is RF wheel speed sensor open/shorted.
I simply just spliced into each wire with the respected wires from the box. These boxes have been installed before with no problems that I know of.
Does anyone have any advice as far as what I can do for a fix or to get it right??
I'm not sure if it was designed specifically for the C5. I know the first test was done on a FBody. I talked to the owner last night and he said that his car didn't have ABS, but other cars he has installed it on threw codes too.
Sounds like it's got too low of an internal resistance.
You can raise the impedance and isolate it by using a transistor and setting it up as a switch. You'll run the pulsed output to the base. That may eliminate your issue. Give me a shout and I'll see if I can't help you with that.

Thanks for the call, Bret. When you get something drawn up or find an image, I'd love to take a look at it. I wasn't expecting any issues with this boost by speed box and I'd hate to not use it, but I'm going to try to exhaust my options before it comes out.
