Default Water pump/c5/98 -help!

Hello!

today my water pump started to leak out all of the coolant water, udner my hood it steamed like it was burning, luckly i was close to an car service, to pull the car there so they could have a look. and just as i aspected it was the water pump, its probably dead for sure. it exploded the water out. under the hood, everything is wet, the 'tank/reservar' or what ever.. for coolant water, when we opened it didnt have any pressure..

I called corvette 'servicer' from my country and he said hes pretty sure its water pump..... sooo.. i was looking this one on corvette forum store '' Corvette Water Pump GM Replacement 97-04 C5'' will this be fine?

or is there anything better or cheaper?

You want cheap or good? Have someone really diagnose it before you throw parts at it.

Yea pressure test the system and make sure that is it. Could be a bad hose that cracked and is pointing toward the motor.

Also where are you? Country that is.
Many make NEW water pumps for our cars. If you have no mods and just a street car then get a NEW pump and install.
If you have modded it then look for something that might work better by asking here.

My car is stock, well all i actually want is a new pump, but if possible, lower price then something that is just 'merched' since i saw on Rockauto for 60€+.

car is not drivable at the momment ofcourse. so i can't take the car to any specialist.

oh and my from slovenia, europe,

Any online store in europe?

Not sure about europe but see if anybody will ship in the US if you can't find where you are at if it is the WP.

Right now fill thecar with water and see if it leaks out from a hose. If not start car and watch for drips and follow back.

If your going to do a pump on a 13 yr old car, you should do hoses and belts at the same time as well as a thermostat and new coolant.
