Default Occasion no start

2000 c5 auto 46,000 miles

Having starting problem. I have checked the battery and alternator and both are good.

Turn the key to start and hear one loud click possibly from the passenger footwell and then no crank. Tried changing to a spare key but still the same problem. No flashing security light, no current codes. I'm thinking possibly the ignition switch or the theft deterrent relay. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated...Thanks

Is the loud click coming from the solenoid? If so, you've probably got a bad one, assuming your battery is up to full power.

Okay sounds like the starter solenoid is probably the noise you are hearing, if no codes you need to check the wires on the starter. should be tight ! most probably the solenoid has bit the dust. This is a common issue for the C5. Might want to check out http://www.c5help.com/c5_no_start.htm ignore the part about checking codes and look at steps 9 & 10

codes are:

B1000
U1096
U1016
U1064

all History codes.

I do not have a lift or jack stands to check under the car. Trying to repair myself for a possible visit to a dealer (UGH) or some other repair shop...
