Default Adding diff. fluid

Well, the other day was going to check the diff fluid (had not done this in a long time) but noticed a small drop of oil that had leaked from the diff. It looked basically like regular oil, not red trans type. This was where the trans bolts to the diff. Nothing bad but any leak drives me crazy. Did a search & found zillion of posts on the axle seals (leaky butt), very, very little on this problem. If you have any experiece other than pulling the rear, let me know. One thing I haven't figured out is how to level the car to add fluid. Everybody says the car has to be level to do this but no one tells how they level it. Where do you sit the level, LOL?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gregg

I put mine on blocks and put a level on the frame to make sure it is close. Leak might be the seal between the differential and the transmission. With one drop, think I would just wipe it clean and watch it for a while.

Thanks vettenuts & toque for the info and the pics. I think it's going to be the large o-ring between the trans & diff. Have to drop the cradle & axles for that. Just had new axle seals put in, hope I don't mess them up doing it.
Now all I have to do is find some empty lot for the figue 8s. Someone will probably call the cops for this crazy guy doing figure 8s, LOL.
Again, thanks guys.........
