Well I know that no matter what tire you go to, when you get away from the runcraps, its a totally different ride. That definitely holds true with KD's. Unfortunately, I also made the last minute decison to put on the Bilsteins. I still was thinking about HALS and I also wanted to empirically test each mod but I said the hell with it. Consequently, i really can't tell what is causing the significantly increased smoothness and comfort (especially on railroad tracks!!!) but I do know that the KD's are what 's giving me this incredible traction/handling! Took 2 corners real hard and one Interstate rotary on-ramp at a very high speed after they were warmed up - wow!!!
The extra comfort I can do without but hopefully I'll get some bounce back when I lower the car (I sure hope that is soon)
BTW, the tech told me that the KD's were very difficult to mount, harder than run-flats.
I'm on my second set of KD SSS (runflat) tires, and love'em. These runflats are just as stiff and noisy as the original EMT's, and not quite as good in rain. But on dry pavement they stick like Velcro.
Have they got what ever production problems worked out with the KD's now? Seemed about 2 months ago everywhere on the planet had them back ordered. That makes me nervous. If you have a major tire failure, you need a replacement tire quickly.
When I get my new wheels I am either going with KD's or Pilot Sports. Maybe the later because of all this darn rain in Florida.

Unfortunately, production is as bad as ever and the last time I called BFG, they had no date to resume production. There was a post that said April but BFG can't validate this. Personally, I think its a big screwup and mistake on BFG's part.
I got my KD's from 1010tires.com (or tires1010.com) in canada. Went to the 255/40 in front because the stock size was not avail (they don't make stock size in Rear). the fitting on front and back are fine.
I thought about the tire-replacement issue long ago but to quote Tom Cruise's popular eloquent quote, "Sometimes you just gotta say, WTF."
Of course it also helps when she's not your daily driver.
