Check out my related post and responses as they might be helpful to you. I have not gotten specific dealer recommendations as yet. I am in Plano Tx so if you get strong referrals for our area please pass them on and I will do as well. Right now I am considering going to Huffines in Plano. You might want to post in the Southwest section as well.

Re: "Ring Replacement"..Questions for DFW are owners. (SR1654)
SR,
I had the rings replaced on my 2001 coupe back in November last year by Moritz Chevrolet here in west Ft. Worth. It took them four days as they were also working on a water leak, actual ring job was more like three days.
That was asbout 5,000 miles ago and no problems since and no oil usage. And, those 5 thousand miles have many "high spirited" runs in them so I am very happy.

Are you close to D or FW? I had my rings swapped (and all other recent service on my car) at Showcase Chevy, Tollway & 635 next to the Galleria. Dropped the car off on a Monday, picked it up on Friday, and they gave me a rental for the week. If you take it there (highly recommended), ask for Mark Pearson - great service advisor who really stays on top of things, though he tends to come across with a good-ol' boy attitude that took some getting used to.
In Plano, Huffines is great - ask for Joe Watson. I haven't had major engine work done there, but the few things that I have had done have gone very well.
Then, of course, there's Frank Parra - I hear great things about their service dept, horrible things about their body shop, and I don't have any specific people to mention either way.
Dealerships to be avoided at ALL COSTS when driving a Corvette are Reliable Chevy @ Arapaho and 75, and Steakley Chevy at Northwest Highway and Abrams.
