Default Any performance advise???

I have a 2002 corvette, just put an obx axle back system on, and a k&n cold intake. I would like to increase my power is there any suggested mods which won't break the bank. I really like my sound so I think I want to keep away from headers, and a x-pipe. However maybe there is another recommendation. Thanks for any info.

You can go with a vararam intake... the best. Is your car an auto or stick? Gears, convertor work well.

Also important, what do you do with the car? Drag race, autocross, or ?

I would like something to just make the car slightly quicker from 0-60 mph. I would like to stay under 500.00 or even less (wife has her way it would be much less). I was thinking about wires, someone told me about a mass air flow, however not sure if it would work on my 02, I think those are for the older c5's. Any info would be great. Thanks again.

NO!! Wires and PLUGS will NOT increase HP!!! PERIOD! They will make your engine run better if the plugs and wires in there are bad but you will not gain any additional HP from wires or fancy high dollar plugs. Standard AC Delco or NGK Iridium plugs are about as good as it gets

With a $500 budget,, your NOT going to get much. If you add a vararam, you will gain some noticeable power BUT,, you might effect your fuel efficiency. The way to correct that would be to tune the PCM.

If it were me, I would save some cash till you can add the vararam, and get a tune. You will be much happier with the performance and maintain your fuel efficiency

If the car has never been tuned that will be money well spent, especially if your auto! Other wise figure out how to drop LB's from the car.

If you have cost considerations, look into the forum parts section. If you feel you have to have a VR, I would find a used one. Same goes for headers, throttle bodies, electric water pumps, power ducts, mass air flow sensors etc. If I had to start out again, that's what I would do.
