The LS6 is exactly the same balancer as the LS1, but wait why do you want to install an inferior part?
Go aftermarket for this item I would never install a stock balancer on an LS engine with the failure rate seen here.
Thanks! I had thought about the ATI harmonic balancers but I just can't justify the $400 dollar price tag. The stock one I had lasted about95,000 miles before it came off, and I don't baby my Z06 either (VIR Full Course, autocross, 1/4 mile). Hopefully red locktite on a new bolt will help the replacement HB stay in place.

Usually it's not the bolt. They come apart at the rubber seals.
Look into Powerbond, they can be had for under 100.00.
This C5 ownership deal is getting very annoying. The headlight gears strip, the seats rock, the rocker arms spit their needle bearings, the valve springs are failing, and now the harmonic balancers are suspect.....
Just how are you going to heat the threads of that bolt to break the bond of the red locktite when you can't get a torch on the area that needs to be heated? Other people who have done that or had that done ended up with a broken bolt when they tried to remove it again.
Only install a new GM bolt as per the manual unless you want to screw it up for the next time it has to come off.
