Who designed this???!?!?!??! The parts around are horribly horribly placed. They had plenty more room for the neighboring components.
I need help removing the far driver side plug, see pic attached and leave comments.
The air tube and steering booster is in the way.
If I put the socket wrench on the extension and swivel bracket you see in the picture then the socket wrench gets stuck on the head. First it was stuck on the coil pack thats why i removed them.
Im about to rip out the sawzaw. The little swivel thing on it (the black rusty extension) didn't help at all.

Take the coil for the plug off of the valve cover, it gives you lots more room.
.... Yikes it's already off
UPDATE:
For anyone else in the same position. After taking a break, when I came back I disconnected the easy release on the AIR SYSTEM tube and from there it was easy, no swivels no anything.
I simply first put the extended socket and 4 inch extension on the plug and got it fully seated.
Next I attached a medium socket wrench. You can't do it all at once because there isn't enough clearance. After I attached it I had room (very minimal) but room to turn, once loose, I simply took off the socket and loosened it with my hand. Very easy, 7 min. I guess I just wasn't thinking straight after 7 plugs.
Also for plug number 1 (furthest driver side) i removed the windshield washer resavoir, and used a super long extension under the alternator which let me avoid the swivels too on that one.
$4.99 swivel socket from AutoZone and socket extensions
Used an el cheapo swivel socket from AutoZone and some extensions after tying back the hoses from the brake booster and anything else in the road. Didn't have to remove any coil packs just tied back hoses and tubing near the #7 plug. Also loosen the plug a turn or so and then use a piece of windshield washer hose to remove and then replace the new plug. Won't cross thread the plug that way. Did that on all plugs. The other plugs can be removed with just a socket wrench and various length extensions and a straight spark plug socket with the rubber insert to hold on to the plug.
The Snap On double joint spark plug tool made getting to all the spark plugs easy. For me the only difficult part was wrestling the spark plug wires off - and they were a PITA.

this is what i was going to say haha... i have a matco swivel spark plug socket... basically the swivel is built into the socket so there is no way it can separate and it is slightly longer than a standard spark plug socket so its easier to get a ratchet on it without having to use another extension... all the big tool companies (snap-on, matco, mac, cornwell) have their own version but be prepared to spend around $50 or so

The rest were easy[/QUOTE]
Thanks good tip. This should be in the sticky if it isn't already.
