Buy the CAGS bypass or do a thread search and install a resistor yourself in place of the bypass. The Bypass kit is cheap and works great. Just My 02's :yesnod:

Yeah, go with the CAGS defeat. Only $20 and 2 minutes and you are banging through all the gears...as you wish!

Test drove a friends car after he upgraded his suspension but forgot he doesn't have the CAGS eliminator, I found myself lugging the engine in 4th when I wanted 2nd. I wasn't about to man-handle his car to cause the car to by-pass the CAGS but still wanted to pull 2nd in town. Spend the few bucks and get rid of this major PITA. You paid for 6 gears?

Nothing special to look for - simple addition. Well worth the $20 IMO.

Ditto for me just installed the CAGS defeat yesterday on my 2002 that I picked up Fri. Follow the instructions that come with the part, back your car up on ramps or use a lift if avaliable.

If you would rather save the $20, just go to radio shack and buy a 2.2k end of line resistor.

The CAGS defeat is almost identical between the C4 and C5. I put the CAGS defeat in both my previously owned C4 and my new C5 and other than the location of the plug, its entirely the same. It's a little weird to find the transmission in the rear of the car on the C5 when you're accostomed to seeing it right behind the engine on the C4, but you'll get used to that.
