2001 vette, had an oil leak, took it to the gas station, and they put a new oil pan gasket on. LOL, the chevy dealer told the mechanic, he has to buy the oil pan and the gasket together - not sold separately, $900. We both lol, and got the gasket for $54 elsewhere.
Anyway after intalling the oil pan gasket the mechanic told me that I need a rear main gasket.
So, based on forum advice, I replaced the oil pressure sensor - no leaks, valve cover gaskets - no leak.
What's next? Oil cooler replace?
Is there anyway that the mechanic could have loosen the screws making the rear main gasket leak?
