driver side acting up won't raise periodically. I raise it manually and just left the manual **** loose and now it works fine. WTF should I just leave it the **** loose and call it a day.
You should not be able to leave the **** lose as such. The motor stops when the internal bumper hits the stop, therefore the **** shouldn't be lose. I suspect that your gear is done and time for a replacement.
Yup, sounds like time for some new gears.
Does it make any noises?
No sound what so ever I been listening for that grinding noise but nada. In doing the brass gears do recommending the procedure where you remove only the motor or the procedure that has you remove the whole headlight unit. Thanks for you help
You can get away with only removing the motor. It's how I did it when I replaced my gears, but after working on my projector/HID setup, I found removing the whole assembly would be the easiest way to do this.
Also another tip, Make sure the nut in the middle of the gear (on the outside) is on tight (with some sort of thread glue also) or it will cause the gears to bind and one or both of the headlights wont pop up. I wish I had figured this out 2 years before selling my car instead of 2 weeks...
