Rocking Seat fix longevity
I used this fix for the rocking seat problem:

does anyone have any idea how long this should last? I would like to think that the Nylon washers that I used will be permanent fixes, but wasnt sure.

The nylon will most likely fracture with age/use so I doubt it will last for more than a few years, especially if you move the seat a lot.

why couldnt you use metal washers the same way and just cut them to fit like the nylon ones?

If the nylon ones fail, I will use aluminum and re-do it.

I repair the rocking chair problem with steel washers. It takes longer to grind them down to fit properly, but I know they will last. Did my driver (98) four years ago and it's still okay. Make sure you use some good lube/grease on the worm gear. The wear on that and the aluminum block were my only concern with using steel. But, it's been four years and still okay.
