I would have liked to have gotten a set of pipes that had cats but when I am ready to buy something I want them in stock right now. LGs streets were not in stock anywhere, XS power was still on backorder and I am not paying more than 10% of the value of the car for anything else so I went with the texas speed. That is why I am glad I live in FL. no emissions, no testing, not even an annual inspection. We used to have emissions testing but then they determined that air quality after 10 years of testing was the same as prior so they stopped.

You've got to be kidding. Illegal, immoral and stupid. First, headers without CARB certification are illegal. Doesn't matter if they have cats or not. Immoral? You should not have headers or mods and drive something with a lot more fuel mileage efficiency before casting that stone. Stupid? I don't think so. To each his own but just because you wouldn't does not constitute being stupid.

Sorry, I off my soap box but this prompted me when all was asked by the OP was would it smell to which I can answer. I put FLP's with removeable cats on my WS6. There was no difference in smell between having them in or out. However, the sound was very different because I have the GMMG chambered exhaust. It sounded horrible with them out kinda of like a tractor. Don't know how it would sound on the vette with stock exhaust or aftermarket but you should check that too. I have ARH with cats on the Z06 and it sounds great with no smell either.

I am glad that someone said something. I was thinking about it but didnt want to get myself in trouble.

Stinky-we proved that can be fixed with a tune
illegal-ok yeah but so is the simple act of putting on any long tube
immoral-based on what?
stupid-i guess that one is tied to the above.

To be fair though, I am a very immoral person. I hate kids, atheist, and watch way too much **** so my viewpoint may be skewed.

Why do you want to go catless???? You only gain 4-5 Hp and the smell will be more than you want to deal with. trust me.!

Yes, I am just going to go with cats now. I will cam it eventually, so it will definitely smell then.

I really want these headers, but they are out of stock. They say mid june, but who really knows? I am pulling my heads in a week or two and it would be very convenient if I could get a set of headers by then...they will be very easy to install with the heads off.

Ditch the cats and let the tree huggers whine, if you have a good tuner you'll never smell it, most don't take the time to tweak the injector timing to help with it. Factory tunes kind of pour gas on converters to help with over heating as stupid as that may sound to help meet the warranty they have to meet.

Ya, we'll see...Got a couple of weeks to find a set. I am looking to buy used, but hopefully the XS power's will be available mid June like the site says. I honestly dont care if it smells, as long as it doesn't dump into the cabin when the windows are down.

First poster in this thread that really knows what's up with keeping raw fuel out of the exhaust. It's obvious that a lot of so-called "tuners" don't fully know what they are doing. If you have headers and a cam and are lining up a tune, ask the guy before he starts what changes he will make to the injector timing. If you gives you a blank stare, then thank him for his time and walk away.

But also like zeevette mentioned - don't get crazy with huge cams and large overlap. They might sound cool at idle, but it gets more and more difficult to clean up the tune with all that overlap.

Wow, I fully expected someone to jump all over me for that. I appreciate the support! I could not stay quiet on that one.

As for the XS headers, they look really impressive. Very similar to the ARH design which provides a great power boost especially torque.

Lots of self righteous people in the world, and they always want to impose their "values" on others. Probably also has bumper stickers, and stick fish to let everybody know their piety. Well, I guess it's better than being Muslim. PS, I love "pissing contests".
