Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (Nitrovette)
Nittro, how did the tuning go at D&M?, I talked to the guy from BV today and am trying to set up something for next week, my car is running like crap, I had everything checked, even had my cats gutted because I thought they were plugged, my car feels like it lost 100hp and even isnt as loud as it was, as I said before everything checked out ok, which only leaves the computer, funny thing is, just before it started to run like total crap, I could feel the torque management slow the car down in the gears, it seems that somehow the computer relearned itself back to the stock program, something is definately wrong, I hope that they can get me in next week.

Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (dave zehak)
Hey Dave Z:
Brian of BV Performance is definitely the way for you to go. Hey really knows his stuff and gives great customer service. I was overall very satisfied with my tuning with Brian of BV Performance as the car has been running really strong and he has been helping me with follow up tuning/tweaking sessions getting my shift points dialed in for optimal performance. We thought we had the shift points down perfectly but after I did some serious test and tuning on the road today I bounced off the rev limiter several times and Brian returned my call promptly and scheduled meeting tuesday night so that we can lower my shift points a tad, as hitting the rev limiter is not going to cut it!
Overall I am very pleased with BV Performance as Brian really smoothed my idle out, lowered my fans to kick in much sooner, extended rev limiter to 7k, increased timing to 30 at WOT with minimal knock retard and has given me awesome customer service with follow up meetings so that we can get my shift points down once and for all. He also got me 417rwtq and my beast is definitely a torque monster and is running like a raped ape. I think i will see 11.6s on et streets this spring and Hal 12 way adjustable shocks.
Dave, at this point I think he is your only chance to get you dialed in b/c it does seem like Jason at Team has your problem narrowed down to your PCM. Jason at Team took great care of me also as he fixed my gas gauge problem yesterday (Friday) which was under warranty. Jason at Team Chevy definitely rocks :smash: ! Also Dave, Was that you pulling down the road out of Team around 5:15 pm on Friday? If it was you passed me as i was walking on the road leading to Team and your car sounded awesome!
Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (2000^C5)
Anyone who decides on the LS1 Edit must be aware that the software tool is capable of most everything you would need done for fine-tuning. Since the product is fairly new to our vettes, IMHO, you would need to find an individual who has the training and expertise to do the adjustments and tuning perfectly, for there is absolutely no margin for error. It's like having your brain operated on... Trust me, you want the best doctor doing the work :yesnod:

...extended rev limiter to 7k...
Sorry for the digression, but I have to ask. Are you spinning a stock bottom end to 7K? If not, why such a high limit?
You'd have to be pretty nuts or know that you'd be buying a new bottom end after long if you spin a stock bottom end 346 that high  Not a wise decision for a stock bottom end 346.

Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (C5Noir)
Julio at Catek recommends that i reset my rev limiter to 6900 which is darn close to 7000 and certainly he knows his sheet. What is the highest you guys would have my rev limiter set at?
Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (Nitrovette)
I'm a weenie, only 6500 here. :bb Stock cam.
That may be a good point for your cam and other top end parts (to make power), but if I were your bottom end (wanting to last) I'd be crying. :cry :cry :cry

Yes, Cartek does know their stuff. I'm just basing it on past posts on LS1 F-bodies I have seen spinning the motor that high ;)

BuckMaster:
Now that Ed hooked you up is your hot rod running now and running strong? I hope you are out ripping up the street as we speak! Let us know what's up! I hope I was able to help you out giving Ed a big thumbs up!
Goodluck and happy hunting! (PUN INTENDED-both Vipers and Deer!)
Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (Buckmaster)
Ed Wright is a class act. How is 4 1/2 hours from start to finish and in the mail sound?
On the surface, it sounds good. But if you take your car to the dealer and they reflash the PCM, you've got to remove the PCM and send it back to Ed Wright - every time. Not convenient unfortunately.
Re: Should I get Ed Wright or LS1 Edit programming? (jeffh355)
No experience with LS1-Edit but Ed Wright is 1st Class all the way.
Quick turn-around. Shipped out Monday, had it back Wednesday. Ed even called me after I got me PCM back to offer me a free upgrade after he found more power for my car, a stock LS1 SS Camaro.
Not a bad thing to say. And Yes, He does communicate with his customers.
