Default Borla Exhaust System ?

I have on my 2001 C5 convert, with auto a Borla exhaust system.I don't know what it is because it was on the vette when I bought it.I have tried to find out thru the forum search and I am stumped. As near as I can figure out it is the Borla system with the "S" type mufflers and quad tips.I like the sound but when traveling it can get to you after awhile like when climbing and just accelerating. It is even worse when the top is up.My question is ,could just the mufflers be changedto calm it down a bit ? I thank you for any ideas.

I suppose a muffler shop could butcher the borla system and add some kinda muffler - Do not even think anout doing it !

Sell the Borla as someone will buy it from you. Buy a used Z06 Ti system for 300-400 dollars to replace it.

Heck , if it's a 4 tip Borla Stinger system I would trade you for the Ti system I have off my Z06. Unfortunately, you are in Oregon and I have no desire to ship it.

I don't know what stingers are but I have managed to find out that I do have the "S" type mufflers which are small and round with round in and round out pipes and they are engineered for porformance and are quite agressive.Borla also makes a like sustem that is the touring model whtch is less agressive.I like your idea about going for the Z06 TI system. Are they quad tip and will they bolt right in ? thanks again

Chassed mine are something like that but not quite. The pipe that comes out of the muffler is clamped on and is a dual tip set up.Borla lists them as a "s" type system.

Is this what you have?

http://www.borla.com/products/produc...rod_sku=140038

Google is your friend. You could trade these for 3 or 4 sets of factory exhausts if you wanted for 1219.99

Stingers come in dual tips like the link I posted and quad tips like the other posted.
My stingers are quad tips.
