I have recently add an Cold Air induction system, x-pipe and a cat back exhaust.
I had the 2000 vert dyno tuned a couple of week ago and picked up 13 rwhp and 17 ft. lbs. of torque with a comment being made while the tune was in process that it's the exhaust system that is further preventing any gains assuming he meant lack of headers.
I would now like to add either (but not both at this time) a LS6 manifold or shorty headers.
Which of the two would give me the greatest performance increase and will the ECM eventually compensate for the additions. Don't want to pay another $400.00 for a new tune.
I agree with your tuner that headers should be the next step in bolt-ons. You do need a retune after they are installed -- but most good tuners will do a re-tune on the same car for far less than the $400.
Call him. If you are going with a cam etc later on, thats when the better Intake manifold is really needed. Just my opinion of course.
