I am having trouble finding a mini installation kit for my motive 3.73, I am about to install. I found a master install kit for $269, but I really only need a mini, since my 02 has low miles. Any suggestions?
You do realize that it takes a special KENT MOORE differential tool to properly install new gears and set up the rearend clearances,, right??
Just dont want you to install the gears and have major issues.
Here are a couple of post that you can look at for a couple of things:
1, Upgrade to C6 ZO6 hardened parts.
2, See what is in the rear before you start
3. The Kent Moore tool is shown in the post.
4. C5 RAGTOPWS6 & Its Go Time may be able to answer your questions
I'm having a shop do the install...I bought the motive 3.73 ring & pinion and before I drop it off with the installer, I wanted to have the install kit too.
I did use search function, but didn't find any threads or info on which install kits everyone is using.
If the differential doesnt already have hardened parts,, I recommend that while its apart, that you have them inatall the upgraded parts. The labor shouldnt be any more than it would be for the gear swap.
PM forum member RAGTOPWS6 He rebuilds rearends a LOT. He will have your answer.
I get all my GM software from Gene Culley www.gmparthouse.com He has great prices on the GM parts
