Default C5 Front Fascia Replace Won't Line up

I pulled the front fascia on my 01 vert to fix a parking lot bump that put a dent in the passenger side under the fog light and bent the molded crease. Popping it out would pop right back. I used a heat gun to slowly heat the spot from the inside and then pressed it back out, let it cool under pressure, and it looks normal again. There are no apparent deformities. Everything looks symmetrical and aligned.

But when I put it back on the passenger side lower area will not go all the way back. The driver's side popped right into place. The fender holding studs fit back in place on both sides. After some jiggling the the driver's lower will drop into place and mate up, but the passenger side feels as though there is something interfering with the lower part going all the way back. I've removed it twice to check for obstructions and found nothing. When removed the fascia appears square and flat with no twist induced by the repair.

What am I missing here?

Hard to tell without PICS but I would guess whatever dented it bent something.

I was going to take pics but got started and forgot - duh!

Anyway, the dent was clean and just to the inside of the passenger side protector bar. The bar is not bent. There is no other structure in the area. There is surprisingly little structure under there once you have it off. Aside from the skid bar there is pretty much only some heavy foam blocks right behind the fascia which I guess are the impact absorbers in front of the main bumper structure. Clearance around the upper sections of the foam seems the same on both sides.

This is what the damaged area covered. The outline shows where the plastic was pushed up and made a nice straight funnel shape up from the bottom.

OK. This is where the tag says the picture is, but it doesn't show. It is in my album at:
