I'm going with new rims and tires shortly and would like to upgrade my brakes as well. I think the stock rear rotors look terrible behind 19" wheels. I'm considering the Baer rotors but I'm curious about the brake pads. Within the last 1500 miles or so I changed all the pads to GM ceramic pads and I'd hate to have to throw that money out because I need new pads with new rotors.
Can I rough up the pads with sandpaper???

Thanks.
If were me- I'd go ahead and sand the pads a little before reinstall with new rotors, makes sense to do so even with only 1,500 miles.
w/dougfresh
I went w/ the Baer 14", 2+2's.
I kept my ceramics. No problem, except if you plan on doing alot of hard breaking. If so, go w/different pad, but keep the ceramics for when your not planning on doing your road racing or whatever.
Good luck
IMO....I would go ahead and get new pads. The Hawk HPS work well with my TPS slot's....and while you're at it,upgrade the lines to Goodridge SS lines and add Speedbleeders.
