Maf and diffuser
When installing a new intake, Vortex or Blackwing, is it worth it to replace the maf ends as well and yank out the diffuser on a stock 2000 6 speed?

You will get a few more ponies from the ported maf ends and screen removal... IMHO it is a worth-while mod :yesnod:

As to porting the maf: Is that something that is done to the original maf, or something else that I need to buy?

I'd just remove the screen and save the trouble of porting, at least on a stock head/cam car. '98 TA I used to have picked up 8rwhp from a ported MAF, my '00 vette picked up 6 rwhp from just removing the screen. 2 hp diff isn't anything. A ported MAF is more likely to mess with air/fuel ratios as well since you are changing the volume of the MAF, though this may be a benefit if you are running rich.
