Default Help! ARH Install

Just finished putting AR headers and X pipes on. Had to replace the plug wires and plugs. She's running like crap. I reused the stock plug wire heat shields and it was very difficult to get the wires clicked in. Is this the issue or should I be thinking about something else? Do I need the heat shields? I used MSD performance wires, which were provided by local speed shop. It certainly feels and sounds like it's missing but wanted thoughts before I trouble shoot.

Think you need to get wires clicked in. I didn't put the heat shields on mine but did use KoolSox to protect MSD wires. I know some have done without any protection just make sure it is not touching headers.

Are you sure you didn't reverse the O2 sensor wires?

OK, I'm a certified idiot. Went back out a looked and one of the wires was unplugged from the coil. I now recall doing that to bolt in the O2 hose. However, the engine light is still on so thoughts on this are welcome.

I know you Have different headers but I believe the install is probably about the same.

Just installed my LG super pros sunday Not to hard but due to pre soaking the header bolts with PB blaster 2 of my brand new MSD super conductor wire basically fell apart LOL.

BUT , my install was on an 04z06 and LG did not include anything to extend the wiring from the front two O2 sensors to the Molex connectors from the wiring Harness I had to splice a 10" extension on both sides. Due to the nature of the longTubes Being longer than the stock manifold the O2 sensors also sit farther rearward to just " plug back in "

They did include some sort of converters or adapters of some sort that I still haven't figured out what they are intended for.

She seems to be running fine but I had help and my friend originally plugged the 02 sensor wires in backwards due to the angle that they stick out of the exhaust Double check and make sure if the o2 sensor is coming from the drivers side pipe that it also plugs into the drivers side harness !! It will run like crap if you don't from what I read.

Now I'm super worried about my O2 wires that run very close to the long tubes ans I am researching some sort of fire fiberglass cloth to wrap them in like what the O2 wires have around them for my extensions !

I had a lot of problems getting my MSD wires to click in place, worse now after a hand injury. Went with GM LS7 wires with the 90 degree end which are perfect for headers.

Thanks all for your inputs. I'll pull the codes later today and post. The code listing and instruction is a great benefit. Again, thanks!

OK, pulled the codes. The P0300 was showing as H so I reset since I had solved the issue as I mentioned above. However, I have a new issue. I'm throwing the P0153 code now. Done a lot of reading on this but nothing definitive except perhaps tuning it out but I'll leave that to a pro to determine. Thoughts?
