Has anybody had a problem with fluid seeping out the fill plug? It seems tight, I don't want to over tighten if that's possible. Dripping down right below the plug and it was slightly wet. Can the washer be reused, as I just had the fluid level checked. Maybe they didn't replace it. I will check tomorrow to see if the washer is there.
You don't mention what kind of tranny that you have & you don't state
it in your profile.
If you have a manual tranny, pull the fill plug out & put teflon tape on
the threads.
OOP"s my bad. You said differential not tranny.
Tape would work there also, As LonestarFRC stated, there should be a
washer on there.

No. I haven't.
Level should not be high enough to "leak" in the first place. Make sure car is level, remove plug and let any "excess" (if there is any) drain on it's own and re-install plug. It will stop when the level reaches the lower edge of the fill hole.
GM part number for the gasket is 12369215. The fill plug and the drain plug use the same gasket. I would just go ahead and buy one and have it on hand to replace after doing the above.

It only leaks after driven, so I assume it is from being under pressure and moving around in there.
When the diff cools down the vent valve SHUTS and the diff is held under a slight vacuum... Thats most likely why it doesnt leak sitting cold.
Your seal is either damaged or missing. I would remove the plug (If your quick with the thumb, only minimul oil will leak out.) and install a new seal ring on the drain plug.
