Default Tips for bleeding steering rack/power steering pump?

My rack is coming out tomorrow and after removing the 18 mm power steering lines I have a mess of power steering fluid on my drive way. I looked at the manual and it says that you need a special vacuum bleeder to purge air from the lines. Any tips on how to do it without the special equipment??

Default P/S pump

I have no Idea what the manual says, but i just had all of mine removed for the oil pump and balancer change so it was empty when reinstalled. When the car was first cranked (with the front wheels off the ground) I turned the steering wheel from stop to stop several times then topped off the fluid and its been fine. Good luck.

That's pretty much what the manual says.

I read somewhere that you should turn it stop to stop a few times before starting the engine. Either way, once it's running you keep turning stop to stop and topping off the resevoir until the fluid quits going down. If you start to hear a pump whine then stop turning the wheel and top it off.
