Hi friends I have a C 5 2001 automatic and I wanted a litle bit of more jump power on the street I find it a bit slow with the gear ratio
( maybe ? )
I allways had stick shifts and it feels slow, I dont have the money to buy a supercharger or to trade my corvette for a manual one, I hear about a Torque Converter could give me more torque on the street, I wonder is this true, and How much would I have to spend to change mine for a "special one " ( pro torque ? )
or any sugestions to increase a litle bit my zero/ sixty...
tahnks all my love to all

What gears do you have? If think it's slow then you probably have 2.73. I suggest changing them for some 3.15 or 3.43 gears. I have a 2000 Corvette A4 with Stock 3.15 Performance Axle and it's not slow trust me
I dont know the gear on it, please do you have any idea of how much would cost to replace it ?
thank you so much...
sergio
A corvette shop could do a gear swap and tune for about $1800. If you have a 2.73 you would be better off trying to find a used 3.42 that someone pulled out of their car. Those usually go for about $450 to $600 plus installation and tune. If you go from a 2.73 to 3.42 the car will feel great and still be great on the street. Good luck.
I found out that my ratio is 2/73, and I am sure it will be a great improovement to change it please anyone somebody had to do this already?
what is the price tag on this kind of job ??? anyone knows?
thanks to all

I started with stock converter and 273 gears, put in a 3600 stall converter and 342 gears, world of difference, I spent $400 on used low mileage differential and ~$800 on the converter, dealer charged $800 to swap them along with installing a cooler for the tranny (not a bad idea with a higher stall converter). That was in 2004...
3.42 out of Z06 $5-600ish, and a Yank SS3200 stall $715. Make sure you do it all at once as labor should be the same. I have this combo with an RPM level 6, and it is an awesome set up! car is soooo much quicker, you will love it!
Guys, thank you so much for your help and kindness I will change my diferential and see about the torque I am sure it's going to be exactly what I wanted.
all my love
