c-5 plugs
just changed my first set of plugs on a c-5. car only has 17,500 miles on it and I noticed that the threads already felt like they were starting to gaul on the way out. I also noticed that the ground electrode on the ac plugs seemed to be slightly off centered from the center electrode. why would anyone wait more than 20-25 thousand miles to change $30 worth of spark plugs? all the wires came off relatively easy except that I forgot what it was like being double jointed and upside down to service a car since I sold my last shop about 13 years ago. I installed bosh platunum 2 plugs and they see fine. Also what ever happened to the good old center electrode?? why did they seem to do away with the extension?? Heat??? wcj jeff :crazy:

that's one thing I haven't done yet--how often is it necessary? I've got 82k on my 97 (got her with 68k last august). am I due to change them out? if yes, what do I need to buy and is it easy to do?

yes the factory plugs are junk.
Especially when the platinum puck falls off the outter electrode and screws up your gap.
